Mac keyboard without biometric
Hi all,
Sorry if this has been answered. I searched but I can't find the solution. Maybe didn't hit the right combination.
I have a desktop iMac & another Windows PC at home. On the Windows 11 PC I can use the MS Windows Hello PIN to unlock 1Password as the desktop has no biometric feature.
What do I do on the desktop iMac??
Gets very annoying typing in the long password every other time I want 1Password to fill something.
I realise that's there for security but surely a prompt to put in my iMac admin/profile password similar to a Windows machine could work?
Any other solutions?
Thanks
Dave

Hello dkjonesau! 👋
Thanks for reaching out! 1Password on the Mac supports a few different unlock methods:
- Using your account password.
- Using Touch ID: Use Touch ID to unlock 1Password on your Mac
- Using your Apple Watch: Use 1Password on your Apple Watch
If you don't have Touch ID or Apple Watch then I recommend changing your account password to something that is easier to type in while still being secure: How to choose a good 1Password account passwordYou can also adjust your auto-lock settings to choose how often 1Password locks: How to set 1Password to lock automatically
surely a prompt to put in my iMac admin/profile password similar to a Windows machine could work?
This isn't an option for macOS at the moment. While I can't make any promises, I've filed a feature request on your behalf to have our team look into adding such an option. Thanks for the feedback!
