Merging Duplicated Password
Is there a way to merge duplicate entries in 1Password?

Hello robertoborges! 👋
Thank you for the question! 1Password 8 includes a duplicate finder through Watchtower, try these steps:
- Open and unlock the 1Password for Mac desktop app.
- Click on Watchtower in the sidebar.
- Click on Show Items under Items with duplicates.
The duplicates remover tool will only look for items that are exactly the same and that are located in the same vault. You can read more here: Use Watchtower to find account details you need to changeI hope that helps.

I feel your pain. As I posted previously, I've helped dozens of users get started with 1Password and have learned my lesson about going straight from multiple password managers directly into 1Password. The problem often begins with the many keeping multiple URLs in a single entry but a CSV not being able to do the same.
Rather than start over, I recommend you export your current set of logins from 1Password to a CSV and use a spreadsheet app to triage the records. For example, if you already have unique passwords across your entries, sort by password and you'll quickly discover the duplicates. Experiment with various sort options and I think you'll be able to reduce your load with greater ease.
Then, after taking a backup of your 1Password data, delete all your records and import the cleaned data. Or, you can import into a dedicated vault in case there are fields not exported that you want to reference. Plus, if you have saved any passkeys, I think you'll need to generate them again.
I agree that 1Password ought to develop a first-party solution that prevents this hassle during import. I maintain an assumption that it shouldn't be very difficult to design a method with fuzzy logic to identify similar entries by URL segment and/or other elements.

earthsaver : Thanks for taking the time to share a resolution — I really appreciate it. It’s a bit more involved than I can manage right now, but I’ve been chipping away at it slowly and hope to end up with a cleaner, more usable setup.
I think you’d agree: most people turn to a password manager to make life easier, especially when built-in options like Apple Passwords or Microsoft Wallet already do a decent job. I was drawn to 1Password by all the glowing reviews, but I’ve found the onboarding experience a bit less intuitive than I expected.
I’m sure I’ll get there eventually, but if there’s a user experience team at 1Password, I’d encourage them to spend more time listening to real users. And if there isn’t one — it might be worth investing in. Just a thought from someone still finding their way.
