1Password error message on Start up
For the last month or so, I've been getting an error message every time I start my computer. I "report" it. 1Password seems to have done nothing to correct the situation. The application seems to be functioning. The error message is annoying. It has been a source of complaints for years.
The failure to fix it makes me concerned about how well the application is being maintained.
I am running
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor on a Dell computer
Windows 11 25H2
OS Build 26200.7462
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.275.0
1Password is 8.11.23.1
These directions enable Gem to diagnose my problem. Gem proposed the solution below, which worked.
From your latest diagnostics report, it looks like a corrupted crash report file is preventing crash reports from sending successfully. 1Password retries sending this file whenever your device restarts, which causes the repeated error message. Could you follow the steps below for me, and let me know what happens:
- Make sure 1Password isn't running, and close any related error messages.
- Press the Windows key on your keyboard, which will open the Start Menu.
- Paste the following text into the search field, and press Enter: %LocalAppData%\1Password\crashes
- When File Explorer opens, delete any files you see in this folder.
- Restart your computer, and check whether the error still appears.

This was only part of the solution that resulted in a diagnosis. In my case, there was further follow-up, see below, which solved the problem.
