Hallo, it looks that an old issue is back: I get an email notifications that a safari extention from a new device logged into 1password, and that happens each time I start up the Safari browser (on iOS and iPadOS)... Since a few weeks ago I am frequently getting incorrect sign-in alerts when opening Safari on my iPhone and iPad. Hi everyone. We've had reports of this happening pretty consistently if you're using the beta of iOS 18.3 or iPadOS 18.3. Something seems to have changed in Safari which is making the 1Password browser extension forget that it's still signed in. It appears that Safari is doing some housekeeping on the local storage that the 1Password browser extension needs. This is essentially the same as deleting your own cookies for a website, and it not remembering you being signed in. When the 1Password browser extension recovers from this, it has no way of knowing that it was signed in before, so has no alternative but to assume this is a new sign-in, which leads to the email you receive. We've been working with Apple about this to see how we can work around those changes, both as feedback for them, and as a mitigation from our side too. That work is in internal testing right now. With it being this time of year, I can't say for sure when it'll be available. This has also affected the beta of macOS 15.3 to some extent, but we're seeing far more reports of it on iOS and iPadOS than macOS. If you're using the beta of iOS or iPadOS 18.3, you may want to temporarily turn off the 1Password browser extension in Safari by going to the Settings app > Apps > Safari > Extensions. This will stop those repeated emails. Autofilling using "🔑 Passwords" on the keyboard will still work as normal.

I currently have two accounts set up (Business and family). Since upgrading to iOS 18.3, I receive an email every time I open Safari for each account saying that I have a new sign in alert. When I go to look at all my trusted devices, it seems to go on forever with Safari. Beginning a few days ago, I started receiving many, many alarming emails from 1Password warning of new sign-ins from Safari. This caused quite a bit of angst, and a bunch of wasted time, including on Christmas when I really didn’t want to be thinking about computer security issues, because I was afraid that 1Password had somehow been compromised. But instead it seems like it’s probably somehow related to Safari on one of my devices, possibly my iPad… it seems like I’m getting these alert emails nearly every time I use it. I am not signing into or using 1Password (to my knowledge) when most of the emails seem to be generated, just using the iPad or Safari is enough. In my list of devices, there are a zillion entries for Safari, with a bunch of different addresses, which is why I was concerned. But I don’t have any reason to think there is anything nefarious going on though I admit that I don’t understand all the entries and differing addresses. It’s also possible the emails are being generated by 1Password on my Mac, but in that case they are happening at times I’m not even using the computer, so that would be even weirder. Just had to remove the 1PW extension and things are much better. I'll hold on to 1PW for other things but it appears it just does not work so well with Safari and how Apple has nailed down just about every aspect of access in Mac OS. It' works fine on my iPhone and iPad but it looks like Apple's Passwords app is the better option on the Mac... at least for now for me. And it works pretty well actually.

I've adjusted just about everything I can think of, reinstalled it, re-read and re-re-read the 1Password post explaining why it's happening and what to check. It still does it. I've made sure I'm logged into the app and I aways am. I've checked all the version info for the application and the extension.

It's become highly problematic and I think (so I can get some work done without the irritation) I'm going to uninstall the extension and rely on Apple's built-in manager.

Seeing the same on MacOS Sequoia, this also started with the emails for iOS stating new login from Safari.

I found the setting - it's "Maintain general location" or "Use country and time zone" under Settings-iCloud+-Private Relay-IP Address Location. However I still get the emails no matter which of these is set.

I've reviewed the many other situations where 1Password is working less than flawlessly on Mac OS 15 with respect to the 1Password extension. Any app I setup to be an app in the dock generates several screens the moment the web app want's a password. I've not seen this behavior in Safari so far but only in the doc web apps.

I have reviewed the material and advice on the issue in general, every privacy setting, and even gave 1Passward cartblanc on my most used sites (apple put's little orange triangles on them). I've reset 1Password on my Mac.

Is this now expected behavior (at least for now)?

If not any suggestions as to what I might be missing?

And of course the Apple Passwords app has no problem with this at all. :o|

Having the same issue since the last 1P update. Repeatedly emails about logging in from a new device, plus repeated prompts to setup the extension (already installed) on iPhone.
