new to 1password. My tablet seems to work differently...

Hi, I have 1pw on my computer and tablet, phone is next.
But on the tablet it seems to work oddly and I'm wondering if I have a setting wrong or something.

When I click in a log in box, instead of it offering me the password on the box or just auto-fills it in, it offers me the password at the top of the Keyboard (Samsung X210 tablet).

It almost looks like it is putting it into the place where the google keyboard copies text. I don't think it should be that way, should it?

I haven't had time to look through all the settings - thought it might be quicker/easier to ask here. I hope this works better than roboform with android. I had to delete roboform from everything because it only seemed to work well on Windows.

So is there a setting that I need to change in order for 1pw to work on my tablet (and phone) the way it works on my computer - automatically filling in the correct form instead of offering a password to me at the top of my keyboard where I would usually see copied text? I have a feeling (?) that is not the way it should work because it may be insecure...

Thanks for helping!

Oh! I forgot - another issue on my tablet: 1pw seems to always require my long password to start up. On my computer I don't have fingerprint log in so I get it. But can't I set it to use my fingerprint like I do with other apps, on my phone and tablet?

  • Hello jim2525! 👋

Thank you for the question! 1Password will never automatically fill your login credentials without you first asking it to. This usually means tapping or clicking on the login suggestion that appears on top of your keyboard or underneath the username/password field on the page.

You can change where login suggestions appear by following these steps:

    1. Open and unlock 1Password.
    2. Tap your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and choose Settings > Autofill.
    3. Tap Display Autofill prompts and choose Below the fields they relate to.

You can enable biometric unlock for 1Password on your Android tablet by following these steps: Use your fingerprint, face, or iris to unlock 1Password on your Android device

Let me know if you run into any issues or have any questions.
