I don't know what's going on but this morning I was not able to open click the 1Password by clicking on the Chrome browser extension icon. I clicked and clicked and nothing happened. I verified that my Chrome was up to date. I killed Chrome and opened it again. I launched the 1Password application on my Mac and it came up fine. I also could not get 1P to suggest passwords in a login page. I had to copy and paste from the 1P application into the login form. I was about to reboot my MacBook but then it just started working. I've noticed a sluggishness recently, but this morning it seemed completely broken. I also noticed when it wasn't working in the login page form, there wasn't even a 1P icon in the entry field. Seems to be working again. I will be keeping an eye on things. It appears that you're facing a recognized issue we're currently monitoring, which is linked to https://issues.chromium.org/issues/383343320. We have verified that this problem extends beyond just 1Password; other extensions, such as Bitwarden, are also affected by the same problem. A potential solution for the bug has already been implemented in Chrome Canary and Chrome Dev version 133. As a temporary measure, you can install one of these versions alongside your stable Chrome version and add the 1Password extension there. However, your profiles and settings won't carry over to the Canary or Dev versions. Hopefully, this fix will soon be integrated into the stable version of Chrome. If you are interested, please temporarily install Chrome Canary and confirm if the problem does not occur there. This step is not a fix; I'd like to verify whether the problem does not happen there. Hi, I am experiencing an unresponsive issue with the 1Password extension in Chrome. The issue occurs all of sudden. Now clicking the 1Password extension icon has no response, and no suggestions appear in the password/username input fields on web pages. I have tried restarting the Chrome browser, restarting the 1Password client, and reinstalling the browser extension, but the problem persists. I have this same issue. I'm ready to scream!!! This appears to me to have started with the recent chrome update.. all of the sudden, 1Password just DOES NOT RESPONSE. I'm no newbie. I've been using 1Password for 10 years or more.. I'm an old timer with this app. Now, all of the sudden it just stops working, and I cannot resolve it myself. I'm very surprised that a lot of people are not screaming about this... I really did not know how to report it before.. but I saw this community item, and it sounds exactly like my issue. I hope agilebits can give this some priority, it's a "My work is greatly impacted" type of issue.

Hello liangpig1! 👋 Thank you for the reply. It sounds like the communication between the desktop app and 1Password in the browser isn't working, I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Try this: Open and unlock the 1Password for Mac desktop app. Click on 1Password next to the  in the menu bar. Click Settings. Click Browser. Make sure that "Connect with 1Password in the browser" is on. Then in the browser: Open your browser. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings. Turn "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" off. Turn "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" back on. If that still doesn't work then do you see a green dot in the browser settings page? Or a different coloured dot and an error message? -Dave

My issue just returned. Not sure what is going on. When I click the icon in my Chrome bowser, nothing happens. When I get a page with a form, clicking the 1P icon in the form does nothing.

I am able to open the 1Password application just fine, but the extension seems to be broken. I tried closing Chrome and re-opening it, but that didn't fix the issue. I then restarted my macbook and the problem persists. I click the 1P icon and...

Well that's strange. While I was composing this post, it just popped up!

I just clicked the icon and nothing, then 8-9 seconds later it pops up. What the heck is going on.

I've waited a bit and now it seems to be working (popping up after I click the icon). Is there any known issues? I did notice that at one point when I clicked the icon I got a popup window I haven't seen before (wish I would have taken a screenshot). It had a large 1P icon in the middle, the family logo under that, and a button that said "Open 1Password" (I believe), but when I clicked the button, nothing happened. Let me give you all my versions again:

macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Google Chrome, Extension 8.10.56.28, Application version 1Password for Mac 8.10.56 81056028, on PRODUCTION channel.

I've been thinking of upgrading to Sequoia 15.2. Might that work better? Thank you!

I've been having the exact same issue for the past few weeks. I often have to open up the 1Password desktop app to manually copy and paste my username and password. It's less than ideal

Thank you for the update. The extension should activate without delay. A recent Chrome update likely triggered this issue. However, I recommend writing to mailto:support+forum@1password.com so that we can investigate further.
