Passkey no longer working on Boursobank
Hello, I uses passkey since 2023 on Boursobank without any issues. Since a few days, I have a error that is displayed immediately (no loading or timeout) telling me that it timed out, the website s...

Hello folks,
Our developers believe that they've identified an issue where a low timeout value set by Boursobank is causing 1Password's passkey flow to fail. A fix has been coded and is currently available in the latest version of 1Password in the browser. Please update to 8.11.0 or later:
If you're still running into an issue after updating then let me know and I can help further.-Dave

7 months agoI'm sorry for the impact that the issue is causing. Have you tried either of the workarounds that I mentioned in the pinned post in this thread? If you have an iPhone or Android device, you should be able to save and sign in with a passkey using 1Password on that device by choosing the option to scan a QR code on your desktop device using your mobile device.
Let me know if that option doesn't work.

Well, we have to be realistic here. This bug is affecting mostly French customers using this particular bank with passkey and it's still possible to just disable passkey.
So basically it is an annoying bug for 0.01% of 1password customer base but even for those it is not blocking. On top of that 0% of their dev have an account at this bank to reproduce and it is almost impossible to contact the tech people on the bank side to ask any relevant question because that is the way companies work.
So yeah this sad and nothing will be done about it and maybe some day it will start working again because either the bank or 1password will have changed again what made it not work.
The real question as a customer is whether or not this is a deal breaker. I'd say it is not but it shows passkey is definitely not ready for prime time and that even in 2025 it is destined to remain just a secondary shortcut. So 1password as a password manager is fine but 1password as an identity provider is not gonna happen any time soon.
Sad but true.
