Passkey not supported
Hi,
I’m trying to create a passkey for a website , but it fails consistently . It turns out that 1Password version of passkey is not FIDO2 certified, so that’s why it is not working:
SwissID only supports passkeys that comply with the FIDO2 standard and have been issued by certified platforms. Many password managers offer features similar to passkeys but are not FIDO2-certified – these cannot be used for the SwissID login.
https://www.swissid.ch/en/faq/login-probleme.html?utm_medium=email&utm_source=E-Mail%20Marketing%20Software&utm_campaign=IdO%20Comm.%20Passkeys%202025&utm_content=Password-free%20login%20with%20passkeys
so… what’s this certification about? Is it true 1Password doesn’t have it? Are you planning to get it? Can I trust the other passkeys if you’re not certified?
thanks!

Hey,
I have the same problem and it's just been going on for a long time. Are there any updates on this?

Hello cipri_tom! 👋
Thanks for reaching out! 1Password is FIDO2-compliant and we're also a member of the FIDO Alliance: We’ve joined the FIDO Alliance to build a better future for authentication
That being said, we've received reports from other customers that passkeys aren't working with SwissID and an internal work item is open to look into this further. I've added your report to the internal work item as well. Hopefully this can be fixed in the future, for the time being I suggest using other authentication options for the website in question such as a password and a second factor.

Thanks for your reply! I was afraid my post got lost in the transition
nice to hear that you’re already working on it! Would it be possible to write back when there are news ?
thank you!
