Passkeys login to 1Password

Hello,
I can I use Passkey login for 1Password on my iMac also, when my iMac does not have this security chip and no finger print reader on the keyboard? Is it possible to login with a helping device (like iPhone)?
Or is it only available for newer iMacs?

    Hi there Philipp

To unlock 1Password itself with a passkey, that'll be stored in iCloud Keychain. Without Touch ID, you'd use your macOS user password, just like if you were unlocking something in System Settings or installing new software.

Biometrics, like Touch ID, are very useful for convenient unlocking, but aren't required to use passkeys. Specifically, none of your biometric data is included in the passkey.

Hope that clarifies things, but let me know if you have any questions. :)
