Prompt to input password before using Windows Hello despite setting to Never ask
I have my Security settings on Windows 11 below all checked:
"Unlock using Windows Hello"
"Show Windows Hello prompt automatically"
"Use the Trusted Platform Module with Windows Hello"
And then "Require password" set to "Never"
However every time I turn on my computer (even after sleep) I have to enter my password before using Windows Hello.
Am I missing something here? I've verified I have TPM 2.0 (which is why I can select Never), and all settings on the Windows app are as above. I also randomly had to enter my password on my Android app after making these changes, they defaulted to password input and had to manually change it back to biometrics.
Can't imagine a less secure thing than having to key in a password when my biometrics are unique. Instead I now just go into my Chrome app, use Windows Hello to copy my 1Password password and paste it in. So I'm still using Windows Hello to login, but with an added step of getting the password (copy + paste... not super secure on the clipboard I'm sure) instead of just using the security feature.
