Hi FreeholdMark1ā,
In Safari, you should be able to scan the QR code by following these steps:
- Click the 1Password icon in Safari's toolbar, to the left of where you enter web addresses in your screenshot.
- Select your Target Login item.
- Click the ellipsis at the top right of the item's details and select Scan QR Code.
As for scanning in the desktop app, have you had the same issue setting up two-factor authentication for other websites this way, or is it specific to the Target website?

Trevor_1P,
Well, I'm embarrassed. Your crucial words, "in Safari's toolbar, to the left of where you enter web addresses" made me realize that I was using the 1Password icon in the Mac's menu bar, not the browser's. So I was doing the wrong thing! I've set up various 2FAs but don't remember exactly how.
So let's call it solved.
Thanks for your help.
