There were some features of 1PW 7 that were very handy but seem to not be available in 1PW 8. I am wondering if they are not available or if I am not accessing them correctly. These features are:

Automatically focus on "Search" after hitting the "Show 1PW" shortcut
We generally don't want to move the focus from one part of the interface to another without being commanded to do so, for accessibility reasons. Users of screen readers, for example, would potentially end up somewhere they weren't expecting and could get lost. If you've just used the keyboard to bring up 1Password with the "Show 1Password" shortcut you've set in Preferences, you can then press ⌘F (Command–F) to take you to the Search box, which will search in the current context.
Quick Access is nice! However, I recognize many of my items visually
You'll still see the icons for each item in Quick Access when you type, like this:
If you're missing any icons, you can add them by clicking Edit on the item, then the 🔽 down arrow on the icon. You can then choose an icon to add, then click Save.
Quick Access is optimised for fast keyboard use, so instead, you might want to change clicking the 1Password icon in the menu bar to opening the main window instead:
- Open and unlock 1Password.
- Click the 1Password menu (next to the Apple menu) > Preferences...
- On the General tab, change "Click the icon to:" to "Show the main window".
Log into all accounts after being locked. On 1PW 7, I was logged into both of my accounts whenever I unlocked the app [...] Is this a feature or a bug?
It's a feature, but I can understand how it might be seen as a bug. The reasoning for this change was that Business customers often enforce a longer account password length than you would have for an individual or family account. If a user had added their individual or family account to 1Password first, they could use that (shorter) account password to unlock both accounts, which somewhat bypasses the longer account password requirement for their Business account.
If you unlock 1Password with Touch ID or an Apple Watch, all accounts will unlock at the same time. If not, the recommendation is to use the same account password for each account. There's more information about this here: How to use multiple accounts.
Remember that the Secret Key for each account will still be different, and as a result, so the Account Unlock Key used to encrypt and decrypt each account's vaults will also still be different (and just as different) as before.
TOTP timer does not show when 1PW 8 is not in focus.
This is intentional. By not having to update the window every second to update the TOTP timer while it's in the background, we use fewer system resources because the window will only need to update every 30 seconds instead, when a new one-time password is generated. My advice for this (from personal experience) is to turn on the seconds on your Mac's clock, knowing that new one-time passwords will be generated at :00 and :30 seconds past the minute. Bear in mind as well that some websites and services will let you use the previous one-time password for a few seconds to account for any delay in entering it, but that's not always the case.
Let me know if you have any questions about the above or if I can be of any further help. :)
