Quick Access default to last search
On my Mac, I use the Quick Access shortcut all the time. And about 90% of the time, I'm using it to copy the same password (for work). I would love if when I open Quick Access via my keyboard shortcut, the text box would default to the last search entry I had made, so that I didn't have to search for my same work item every time.
Here's a screenshot of what it currently looks like:
I wish that it would look like this, defaulting to my last search, and allowing me to override if I must:
This would allow my workflow for copying password to just be:
CMD-OPT-L (my keyboard shortcut for Quick Access)
CMD-SHIFT-C (to copy the previous entry's password)
Rather than my current
CMD-OPT-L
Starting typing to search for my password
CMD-SHIFT-C
I'd love to remove the second step, if possible :)
It looks like this functionality sort of already exists if I do it REALLY quickly (e.g. within 10-20 seconds of copying, and open Quick Access again), but I'd love if it would stay as long as possible
Thanks!

Excellent, glad to hear it, @emromrell14!
Happy autofilling and if anything comes up in the future, you know where to find us. 😁

sorry but what does the ** Fill and Update Login** do? I makes no sense to update anything. (its a browser website login / basic authentication)

Hi @emromrell14,
I recommend using Quick Access to search for the entry you'd like to use. After autofilling it (
shift
+return
) from there, you'll see a pop up like this:Selecting
Fill & Update Login
will update the login item in 1Password with a link to the app:Let me know how this goes or if you have any questions. 😊

How do I figure out what URL would match the AnyConnect app? Right now, nothing shows up. Is there a way to mark a certain 1Password entry to autofill for a certain Mac app?

Hi @emromrell14:
To clarify, it's possible to use Autofill in apps too. 😀
Use Universal Autofill in apps and browsers on your Mac
Let me know how you get on with using 1Password to fill your AnyConnect login details.

Hey - thanks for getting back. In my case, I'm not trying to autofill a website, but a separate Mac app. Specifically, I'm using "Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client" to enter my VPN information every morning when I open my machine. :)

Hi @emromrell14,
Apologies for only catching this after it got bumped, I appreciate you taking the time to craft such a nice feature request! Quick Access will do its best to detect what sites/apps you're currently using and will offer suggestions once it's opened even before you start searching. I recommend trying to open Quick Access after you have the desired website/app open, since you'd then be able to immediately copy information from the first suggestion. If you're not seeing a suggestion appear, try double checking the saved item's website. Here's an example of it in action:
Let me know how this works for you or if you have any questions! 🙂
@c_cs,
In a similar vein, I'd double check that the saved item you're seeing autofill into the wrong place has only its own website linked. I absolutely understand the desire for more customization though and will add proxy votes on behalf of both of you for some related features we're exploring internally. Can't make any promises about what will come from them, but the feedback is truly very appreciated!

I have quite the opposite request:
My Quick Access always defaults to some (random) login and keeps and also the CMD+\ fills any current website with that randomly selected login (which is the same about 80% of the time (but not always). The commonality seems to be, we would like to have a consistent and manageable behaviour of this feature ;-)
Thanks,
