Re: Restrict items in Quick Access to the currently selected collection
This old issue is still a problem in 2025 with 1Password 8.11.10. Is there a way to get Quick Access to respect the vaults set in the active Collection? When using Quick Access, all vaults are alwa...

Hello Michael_Mercuriโ! ๐
I've merged your posts into one thread so that we don't have the same conversation in multiple places at the same time. ๐
Can you tell me a little more about the issue that you're running into so that I can reproduce it on my end? You can choose which collection of vaults you'd like to search through in Quick Access by clicking on the account/collection chooser:
If you select a specific account or collection then you should only see search results from that account or collection. I look forward to hearing from you.-Dave

That would be great if it worked that way. But it doesn't for me. When I search for items in Quick Access (using the "Show Quick Access" keyboard shortcut) it shows results from all vaults and all accounts I have, and ignores what I have set in the current active Collection.
I have multiple vaults, for example:
- Private [default private vault most of my stuff goes into]
- Shared [stuff shared between my wife and me]
- Condo [stuff related to my condo association. I typically only need this from a Condo Association Chrome profile and have this not included in my main Collection]
- Dad [stuff from my late Father's accounts. I never need this but keep these accounts just in case. This is NOT selected any of my Collections.]
- Mom [stuff related to my Mother's accounts, which I only need to access when she needs help with something. This is NOT selected any of my Collections.]
- Test Vault [testing which is NOT in any of my Collections]
I primarily use the "Show Quick Access" keyboard shortcut to bring up Quick Access, search for a login, then use "Copy Password" and paste the password into apps, which otherwise do not support 1Password integration or password managers in general.
For Example:
I have an item in my "Test Vault" which does not appear in any Collection. My current active Collection contains only one vault (Private) and it's called "Private Only":
Using "Show Quick Access" keyboard shortcut I'll search for something that matches an item from "Test Vault". I expect this item will NOT be found.
However:
Why does this item show up at all when it's not in any of my Collection, let alone my current Collection?
I can reproduce the same behavior on both macOS and Linux.
In addition to results showing items from all my vaults from my main account, items show up from all vaults from ALL ACCOUNTS I'm logged into. It's maddening.
