Received <BrowserVerificationFailed> from the native core (Chrome on Ubuntu)

The 1Pass Chrome extension won't connect to the desktop 1Pass app on Ubuntu. Both Chrome and 1Pass are installed as a native package and not via Snap or Flatpak.

Here is what I get from the Chrome extension:


Uncaught (in promise) Error: Could not establish connection. Receiving end does not exist.
