"Introducing recovery codes: Never lose access to 1Password"

  • Hello nprokos! đź‘‹

I'm sorry that you're running into trouble with your recovery code. For your protection, 1Password will cancel a recovery if:

    • If you’ve recently signed in to your account
    • If you’ve entered your identity verification code incorrectly too many times
    • If you’ve started a recovery attempt and then signed in to your account

So that I can better understand the situation, can you tell me the following:

    1. Are you currently able to log in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app)?
    2. Do you have access to 1Password on one of your devices?
    3. If you're unable to sign in and don't have access on any of your devices then when was the last time that you accessed your 1Password account?

I look forward to hearing from you.

    -Dave

I am not able to log in on 1Password.com

I have an un-synced version of passwords on macOS, my Windows laptop won't release me from an endless loop of security pop ups when opening 1Password.app

I was adding two 2fa security keys to my account. 1Password thought it went well, the first "succeeded" and was listed on the security page, but for some reason the key was never written to on Windows because the security popup. Now I am stuck without the ability to use my recovery code. I tried using that immediately after this happened (upon learning I had no 2fa key) and was told it was too soon to use it! Then I waited an hour and was told to forget about it.

I'm sorry that you're unable to sign into 1Password on any of your devices. I see that you replied to my colleague's email in the support ticket that you created and they'll get back to you soon via email. Please continue the conversation there.
