Search feature issue with input conversion process in 1Password

I wanted to give you some feedback on 1Password. I've noticed that when I use the search function, it doesn't seem to work well with languages that require a conversion process. Basically, as soon as I hit enter to confirm the conversion, the search executes right away, without letting me finish my search term. It's a bit frustrating because sometimes I can't even complete my search term.

I was thinking it might be a good idea to adjust the search feature so that it works better with languages that require a conversion process. Maybe you could let users finish their search term before the search executes? That way, it would be more user-friendly for people who use these languages.

Anyway, just wanted to give you a heads up on this. Thanks.

Thank you for the additional details. I've added them to the internal tracking item that we have open for the issue. I understand the frustration that this can cause and hopefully we'll be able to improve the situation with a future update to 1Password.

    Thank you for your response.

To understand this issue, I believe you need to understand how we input characters. As a native Japanese speaker, I will use Japanese as an example. The following site explains how to input Japanese:

    https://www.coscom.co.jp/learnjapanese801/lesson02.html

As you can see, in Japanese, you need to press the enter key to confirm the conversion. In 1Password, the search is executed at this timing, and I cannot continue to input characters.

To be more precise, at that point, the first dynamically searched result is focused, so when I press the enter key, the focused item is opened.

This issue occurs in both the Quick Access window and the app screen.

This issue is not a problem when using only alphabet characters. However, in languages that require pressing the enter key in the conversion process, not only Japanese, this issue will occur.

Anyway, it is necessary to distinguish between pressing the enter key to confirm the conversion and pressing the enter key to open the search result, and to handle them differently.

I hope this issue will be resolved as soon as possible. Please let me know if you need more information.

Thank you very much that wonderful feedback. I've shared it internally with the team. Would you be able to share an example? I'd love to provide a set of steps that I can pass along to further illustrate what you're encountering. If you'd like you are also more than welcome to email us. If that's a better option for you. Please email us using support+forum@1password.com if desired.
