Search for a password only
Hi, I received a notice about a leak of a password from a data breach. How do I search for a specific password where I have partial characters, i.e. "LP". I only want to search the password field. ...

I'm sorry that you received a notice that one of your passwords may have been leaked. Searching for LP using the 1Password desktop app would allow you to find all items with a password that includes those two characters in that order. The search will look through all fields, it's not possible to just target the password field.
You can also use Watchtower to see if any of your currently saved passwords in 1Password need to be changed: Use Watchtower to find account details you need to change
If you can't find a password that matches what you see in the notice and Watchtower doesn't flag any logins in need of changing then it's possible that the breached password is an old one that you've since changed, or it's a password that you never stored in 1Password. I would recommend reaching out to the service that alerted you to the leak to learn more about how old the password is and what service it was used for.
Let me know if you have any questions.

"The search will look through all fields, it's not possible to just target the password field."
There are multiple requests on this forum for a way to search password values. And I haven't found a specific feature request page. Please add =username: and =password: Search Filters, and let them honor simple wildcards like maybe SQL's % and _ .
My current use case is a notification from a third-party monitoring service about an old account, and they don't say which account it is. I'm only getting an email address (which is in the majority of my 1Password entries) and a few characters of the password value which occur in many (379) of my entries. If I could constrain the search for the password characters to just the password field that would reduce the result set to something I can more reasonably iterate through manually.
