Sorting gets constantly reset to "Date Modified"
Hi, for some reason, my preferred sorting (Name) is being reset to Date Modified every time I navigate to a different vault. I remember the app using the same sorting method consistently everywhere, but now it's not the case anymore. Very frustrating.
Hello folks,
We’ve fixed an issue where the sorting for an item list wasn’t maintained after you navigated away from the current list. Please update to 1Password version 8.11.8 or later.
If you're still seeing an issue then let me know. Thanks again for reporting the issue and for your patience.

I'm in my 14 day trial period of 1Password so I've been importing and updating passwords and other items. This bug on the Windows desktop app is frustrating as I keep having to change the sort order to 'Title' every time I switch between vaults. I'm wondering how quickly this type of issue is usually fixed? I've tried the latest Beta build and the problem is still present.
Thanks

1Password for Windows doesn't remember "items sorted by" selection. It reverts to "date modified" whenever I switch between vaults or categories. The iOS version of 1Password retains the sort preference correctly. Is this a bug? The issue is in both stable and beta versions.

Hello davideroliti and 1P_SimonH,
I have experienced the same recently with past choices reverting to date, name or modified. Please clarify; I should update 1Password every night?
Thank you.

The nightly version is where we test new features and fixes before releasing them to the beta or stable version. If you'd like to give the fix a try then you can find instructions to switch to the nightly version here. Be aware that the nightly version may contain more bugs since it isn't as thoroughly tested before release and a new nightly update is released every 24 hours or so. If you want to wait for the fix to be released for the production version of 1Password then that's okay. We hope to release an update soon.

1P_Dave ,
Thanks for the explanation. I will wait since I am not experienced enough to navigate the unexpected. I appreciate knowing what's what.

Decided to give this a whirl. I can always change back to Production if I encounter problems. Thanks for the clear instructions.

It happens in every vault, and every tag. By which I mean: if I set the sort order to something like Date Created while in one vault or tag, and then switch to another vault or tag, and then switch back to the first vault or tag, it reverts to sorting by Name.
To your second question: when I quit 1Password and re-open it, the sort order does NOT revert to sort by Name. Rather, it maintains whatever I set it at most recently. Ie, if I set the sort order of a vault or tag to Date Created, and then quit and re-open 1Password, it opens to the same vault or tag, still sorted by Date Created.
Please let me know if there are any other questions I can answer to help troubleshoot this. I don't ever find sort by Name to be a useful option, so I am constantly having to switch my sorting because of this behavior. Thanks.
BTW, I'm still on: 1Password for Mac 8.11.4 (81104027)

I'm sorry that the sort order is being reset. Would you be willing to test the nightly version of 1Password to see if the fixes that our developers have implemented there resolve the issue that you're seeing:
- Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
- Click on 1Password next to the in the menu bar.
- Click Settings.
- Click Advanced.
- Set the release channel to "Nightly".
- Click About and then click Check for Updates.
Follow the prompts to update to the nightly version and then restart the app. Once the app has restart, check to see if you can reproduce the same issue. Once testing is complete, you can revert back to the production version: To stop using the beta-Dave

For me, the problem is the opposite: my preferred sort order (Date Modified) is constantly getting changed to sort by Name. I'm on 1Password for Mac 8.11.4 (81104027) and I think the problem just started after today's update. Hope it gets fixed soon.
