Support for Zen browser
Hi!
There's this new browser called "Zen browser"
It's based on Firefox but the 1password extension doesn't work with the desktop app

Hello everyone!
Thank you all for the continued feedback! For security reasons, the 1Password desktop app will by default only connect to supported browsers such as Firefox, Chrome, Brave, Edge and Arc. If you're using a Mac then you can add Zen Browser as an additional browser to the desktop app:
- Open and unlock the 1Password for Mac desktop app.
- Click on 1Password next to the  in the menu bar.
- Click Settings.
- Click Browser.
- Click Add Browser and choose your browser from the Applications folder.
Adding additional browsers is currently only available for the Mac and Linux. We're not regularly adding new supported browsers individually since that isn't a long-term and sustainable solution however I've shared your requests to support Zen Browser with our product team. We hope to bring the custom browsers feature to 1Password on other platforms (like Windows) in the future.
For the time being, you may still be able to use 1Password in Zen Browser on your Windows PC but you'll need to unlock it separately from the desktop app using your account password.-Dave

Is there any workaround that can be used temporarly on windows? Its rather frustrating that there are workarounds for MacOS and Linux (https://docs.zen-browser.app/guides/1password) but when I'm on my windows machine I can't intergrate with the desktop app

Hello everyone,
The old process of manually vetting browsers resulted in only a very limited number of browsers being supported, the amount of work required to vet a browser made it impossible to review and approve every browser that was requested by customers and only a small number made it through the process. This told our team that we needed to change the process and that's why we're hoping to release a custom additional browsers feature in the future so that you can use any browser with 1Password for Windows whether our team has approved it or not.
Your requests and feedback are important and are all considered by the team. Which features are implemented (and when) depends on a variety of factors that include: consideration for our existing product roadmap and planned features, urgent bug fixes that need to be prioritized over feature requests, available development resources, other customer feedback, and more.
Please continue to voice your feedback, it helps us to make 1Password better for everyone even if a specific feature isn't implemented right away. 🙂

I understand the importance of ensuring security and compliance, but this delay for such a critical feature feels unwarranted. As both a business and personal user, the hesitation seems unnecessary given the circumstances. The Zen Team has gone above and beyond to ensure their app signatures meet your requirements, adhering strictly to your guidelines. Despite this, there doesn't appear to have been any progress or changes on 1Password's side.
While I appreciated the exception made for Arc on Windows, this seems to be the only instance of flexibility. Is there any way to expedite this process? Perhaps there's someone specific I could reach out to for further advocacy, as it feels like these concerns are not being addressed.
Many Zen users, including myself, are facing significant challenges with this on Windows. It's increasingly frustrating and makes me reconsider continuing with 1Password. I deeply value the platform but having to log in every time I need to access resources in my preferred browser undermines the user experience. This functionality should be a user-driven choice, not one dictated by hardcoded limitations.

This thread has been open for 3 and a half months. Has any progress been made?

1P_Dave Can I ask why you stopped approving new browsers before you had the custom trusted browser feature ready on all platforms, especially the biggest (Windows)?
I really don't get it, and it really sucks to see that you're apparently still not working on it, you're just passing along feedback that people "want it"?I thought the days of 1Password being a Mac-first company were somehow over, but I guess not... :(
I guess to get your team to approve a new browser, it has to be built for Mac-first, like the Arc browser, to get your team to approve it even after you have "stopped" doing so.. :/

Any details you can share around this? Is it just a ticket on some board nobody looks at, or is it planned? Either literal support for Zen or a "whitelist" of browsers supported on Windows?

It is literally Firefox with another front-end. Just allow it
