The full domain name matching feature cannot match multiple ports under the same domain.

I have multiple services under a single domain, distinguished by different network ports, such as 8080, 9090, etc. However, 1Password’s current feature for auto-filling passwords only matches the domain name and does not consider the port. This results in incorrect passwords being automatically filled for websites on the same domain but different ports. This causes significant inconvenience for NAS users. I hope the auto-fill feature can be enhanced to include a full match of both the domain name and port.

I'm having the same issue and would like a response that isn't AI generated. This is clearly a missing feature in 1password and the autofill behavior option does not cover it. To resolve this, either:

    • Add this as a feature request
    • Explain why this cannot be implemented

Let me describe the feature request:

Change autofill behavior for "exact domain" rule or add a new rule to also match port number when showing login items.

Welcome to the community! Unless I'm misunderstanding your request, 1Password already allows you to change the autofill behaviour for a website address so that a login item is only suggested when when the domain and port of the currently open webpage both match what you have saved in 1Password:

You'll want to choose the following option in the desktop app:

Is this option not working for you? Can you provide a few more details about what you're trying to do? I look forward to hearing from you.

Apologies, it seems I was mistaken. After double checking, I didn't have the exact domain option set on the items I was having issues with. Thanks

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, shuizei. The autofill behaviour rule must be applied to all login items that share the same domain but use different ports. Here's a short video demonstrating three Login items only suggested based on the port number: https://share.cleanshot.com/6q3J5zyP.

Could you please clarify if this is not what you meant?

I may not have expressed myself clearly. What I hope is for 1Password to support autofill only when the domain name and port match exactly. For example, it should not autofill for https://1password.community:2020, but it should autofill for https://1password.community:3030. According to the steps you mentioned, 1Password currently autofills for https://1password.community without distinguishing between ports 2020 and 3030.

Hello, shuizei. Thank you for writing in.

You can adjust the Autofill behaviour rules on a Login item using the 1Password desktop app. Here's more information on that -> https://support.1password.com/autofill-behavior/.

    1. Open and unlock the 1Password desktop app.
    2. Locate your Login item and click Edit.
    3. Click the Autofill behaviour rule button beside the website URL and choose the Only fill on this exact domain option.
    4. Click "Save".

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
