Told "Update your browser to keep using 1Password" when I have? Snap thing?

I have:

  • Ubuntu 25.10
  • 1Password Beta browser extension 8.11.22.25
  • Firefox 145.0.2 canonical-002-1.0 snap version

145.0.2 is latest Firefox version.

Every time I try to access something in my account on 1Password.com, I'm told:

Update your browser to keep using 1Password
1Password needs the latest version of your browser so we can encrypt your data before it’s sent to our server.

am using the latest version of Firefox, and understand that my browser cannot communicate to my local 1Password instance due to snap sandboxing... but this hasn't in the past stopped me communicating with the 1Password website?

Is this another push to drop the snap version and swap to the deb version of Firefox or is there something else going on?
