Touch ID sensor is currently unavailable
I'm having the same issue. Updating to MAC OS Tahoe 26.1 may have caused it. IOS 26 no issues.

The update fixed the problem.

Hi 1P_Dave,
since last update and the new security options, the "touch ID sensor is currently unavailable" after each restart on macOS 26.1
This is the first time I noticed something like that.
Touch ID has no issue to unlock the mac or anything.
1Password for Mac 8.11.18 (81118036)
MacMini m4 pro
macOS 26.1
Thanks

I'm sorry that you're running into issues when trying to unlock 1Password using Touch ID. So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:
- After seeing the message, if you lock and unlock 1Password using your account password then are you able to use Touch ID to unlock 1Password on subsequent attempts?
- Does the issue only occur after restarting your Mac? Or does it also occur when your Mac goes to sleep? Or when you log out and log back in to your Mac?
I look forward to hearing from you.-Dave
