There was a pop-up to try 1password 8 when I opened 1password today (annoying in retrospect considering it broke my entire set-up).

1Password 8 uses the password you set for 1Password.com to unlock. 1Password 7 could use different passwords depending on how things were setup. All vaults have a password. I would recommend trying to unlock the work vault with the password you set when you created your 1Password.com account.
The installation should only remove the application. It's likely we're going to need to get you over to my colleagues on the email team to dig into this in more detail and possibly gather logs. Please email us using support+forum@1password.com. Be sure to use the email address tied to the account in question. They'll be able to help you get to the bottom of this.
