unable to find "create a new password" on the mobile app for ios

It appears that the only way to create a new password for an existing saved item is to first “edit”, then delete the saved password. Once deleted then the option of “create a new password” is present...

Thanks for reaching out! You shouldn't need to delete the current password, you can bring up the password generator by following these steps:

  1. Open and unlock the 1Password app.
  2. Find the item, tap it to see its details, and tap Edit.
  3. Tap the current password and tap Create a New Password from above your keyboard.

Then follow the prompts to generate a new password. You can read more here: Use the password generator to change and strengthen your passwords

Are you not seeing the "Create a New Password" option when you tap on the password field?
