Unable to sign in to 1Password using a QR Code and 1Password 7 for Android

Nowhere in the android app does this option exist.  There is no "account icon" or "1Password logo" anywhere on any of the pages to select to do this.  Not favorites, categories, tags or settings.  I would love to show you, but the app will not allow me to take pictures of the pages.  Those are the only 4 pages it has.  People have been complaining about this for over 4 years.  To make matters worse, the email I received with my case # referred me to the helpful support pages for walkthroughs and answers to frequently asked questions.  If they were that helpful, people would not continue to post this question.  Having been a programmer, this frustrates me greatly.  It does not take that much time to provide specific instructions (for example) the desktop app, the android app, the apple app, the browser app - and for each active version.  To make matters even worse, this is only one of a loooong list of issues that have existed for years that have not been fixed.  And I'm trusting you with my passwords.  I really want to believe in this company, but I am losing faith.

  • On the Home dashboard, you should see your profile pic (Account icon) on the upper right-hand corner, tap on that, and you should see a Scan QR Code option. :-)

    I'm sorry that you're running into trouble when signing into 1Password using 1Password on your Android device. As BobbyRoa​ mentioned, it looks like you're using an old version of the 1Password app (version 7) that is no longer supported and isn't compatible with the QR Code feature since this version hasn't been updated since 2022.

    Please update to 1Password 8 for Android: Upgrade to 1Password 8

    Then follow the steps that you see on the screen of your desktop or laptop to sign in using the QR code. Let me know if you run into any issues.

    But that's my point.  There isn't one.  These pages are all there is.

      Ahhhh... I see you are using what looks like an old version of the app.  Try updating to 1Password8.

      I have been a user of 1Password ever since its first release and have had no problems with it on any of my devices and platforms (iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac). :-)

      I can try version 8 again.  I did quite a while back and did not like it, but I'll give it another try.  For those of us out there that are not as plugged in, maybe things like the version, and device that the directions apply to should be included.
