Universal Autofill isn't working in Comet version 140.0.7339.186 on Mac
1Password autofill has stopped worked since Comet was updated to Version 140.0.7339.186 (Official Build)

So I replaced the 1Password extension in Comet and it is now Version 8.11.14.24. 1Password Autofill is now working in Comet IF there is a matching Web site in a 1Password Login item, but the ⌘\ Autofill shortcut in a Website username or password field does NOT work.

Thank you for clarifying. The Command-Backslash shortcut uses the desktop app's Universal Autofill feature rather than using the browser extension. There is a known issue where Universal Autofill isn't working correctly with recent versions of Chromium. The issue affects all Chromium-based browsers including Perplexity Comet.
I've added your report to the internal work item for the issue. For the time being, as a temporary workaround, I recommend using 1Password in the browser to fill your logins in Comet by clicking on the suggestion that appears on the page. I'm sorry for the disruption caused.

I'm sorry that you're running into issues with 1Password in Perplexity Comet. I've split your post into a new thread so that we can focus specifically on the issue that you're running into here.
I've just tested and I'm able to fill logins without any issues when using Comet 140.0.7339.186 and 1Password in the browser 8.11.14.24. Can you check to see which version of the 1Password browser extension you're using:
If you are running the latest version of 1Password in the browser then can you tell me the following:- What isn't working when you try to autofill? Do you see the login suggestion appear when you clicking on the username or password field on a page?
- Do you see the issue on all websites? Or just some websites?
- Do you see the 1Password icon in Comet's toolbar and does the pop-up open when you click on it?

My 1Password extension in Comet is Version 8.11.12.27. 1Password does open when I click the extension icon in Comet. On some Websites, Open & Fill from the standalone 1Password app does not work, but the Open & Fill from the extension icon in Comet does work. On all Websites, pressing the ⌘\ Autofill shortcut in a username of password does not work.
Except it does not work. 1Password for Mac 8.11.12 autofill does not work in Comet Version 140.0.7339.186 (Official Build) (arm64) on macOS Tahoe 26.0.1.
