Hi Dave, thanks for coming back to my query. I have solved the problem with the help of the 1password support team. The key for me (having just upgraded to Sequoia), was to first use the autofill shortcut (command-backslash), which then enabled the 1password selection in Settings/Privacy & Security/Accessibility. I also turned off the Passwords feature in Settings/General/Autofill and Passwords to keep the Apple prompt from interfering with 1password. So now its working the way I like with 1password autofill.
