Using 1Password with Corporate Proxies

In some of our network environments, we must enumerate the allowed hosts to be accessed through our proxies. But where can I find a list of the hosts that 1Password needs to access to function in a desktop and browser extension setup? So, basically, which host names will 1Password need to access in order to function through a web proxy?

In my case I am using Linux and Firefox, if that makes a difference.

  • Hello btaroli! 👋

Thanks for reaching out! 1Password uses various domains and subdomains to provide functionality and service. Those are documented in the article that Naxterra shared:

Our infosec dept has previously told us they don't want to accept wildcards. Is there a full list without "*"? I notice a couple of these also indicate "various SUBDOMAINS" of the wildcarded domain are included. What we're asked for is a FULL list of HOST names, not domains.

The best way to ensure that your users don't run into issues when using 1Password is to add all of the wildcard domains listed in our documentation. 1Password uses multiple subdomains and new subdomains are sometimes added or changed to support new features or enhanced functionality. Trying to add specific subdomains may result in 1Password breaking for your users if those subdomains change in the future.
