Where is the password generator in Windows App ?
Cannot locate password generator in Windows App.. On browsers it is available.
I am fixing all my sites from lastpass into 1Password. At present moving all items to respective tags and changing/deleting weak/terrible passwords.
I want to setup default parameters when changing passwords for existing site.. Some sites are very old and support maximum of 15 characters, some sites still do not support special symbols (can take passwords to any length)
Noted: When i click on password change, the dialog to change existing password shows proper, but when I click on change password, 1password pops up to save the changed/edited password and after that i have to click on website save button to save changed password.
This give lot of troubles, I guess, the save on site should work first before updating to 1Password.

Hello again HNofX82,
- Use of special symbols is limited to max of 1(in many cases ) up to 3 when creating passwords with 22+ to 32 character length. Needs fix or it is setup this way ?
Passwords of varying lengths can be regenerated to include try an create a password with multiple special characters. In my experience I see the same, 1 to 3 characters.
- Also noted, most of my sites in India, requires special symbols (But not this two ""-"" or ""_"") 1Password mostly uses above for special characters and this becomes big trouble most of cases
I would suggest the same here, you can try to regenerate the password until you find one that matches the requirements.
- Also I dont understand what are smart passwords ?
I've included a link here to a colleague's post that discusses this further:
* Smart password vs Random Password — 1Password CommunityI'm hopeful regenerating a password a few times or using the Smart Password option in the browser extension will help in these situations.

This is an example of random password generated with very less symbol/special characters and issue i have with most of my sites.. which hampers my productivity/ease of use a bit.

Hello HNofX82,
Thanks for your message. The password generator does not exist in the 1Password system tray icon as it once did. When you need to change a password for an account you can make adjustments to the password variables during the workflow noted in this guide:
* Change your password in the 1Password appsIn you run in to troubles with the website not accepting the generated password, you can adjust those settings and save the Login item in 1Password after the website has accepted the generated password.
As mentioned, the password generator is readily available in 1Password in the browser, if you need a one-off password:
* Create a custom passwordI hope this information helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
