Why did you change the way the search works?
When I search for the string '@domain.com', 1Password 8 for macOS shows me dozens of entries that have the string 'domain' in it. Why???

None of this will get "fixed", as it's not broken. It's how they built it. It's how they chose to make the product they present to you.
The only answer is not to buy it. Time to move on to a new product.
