Why do I need to upgrade to 1P eight?

If you don't need any of the few new features stay on 1PW7. Way too many features of the previous versions are still missing or require many more clicks than before.
Some examples:
* awful new search UI that requires extra steps to get results
* no reordering of fields
* missing item counts (they are actually available but well hidden and barely usable)
* some date fields still ignore locale and use US notation instead
* missing drag and drop in several places
* options that were easily available are no hidden in menus and require extra clicks
