Why was 1P8 released in a seemingly unfinished state?

This is a rant, and I don't truly expect a reply from support as I know they can't really give any kind of satisfying answers to these questions/issue - but I felt compelled to express my frustration...

ag_andrew MikeT 1P_Ben how come no one in the 1P team are interacting with the users? It is a massive change in how 1P were with the community.

Previously you were all active with the community in discussing issues and working with us. Now it seems something massive has changed?
