with last 1password update - TROUBLE

Autofill stopped working on my Samsung S25 Ultra & Samsung Galaxy Tab 9, as soon as the update for 1password took effect.  I reassigned 1password as my default password app, but it hasn't mattered.

Also, I NEVER get the option to auto-generate a new password on those devices or my Chrome Browser on my Windows 11 laptop.  It's very frustrating. May need to go back to Lastpass.

Hi mlleelise, thanks for writing in. I'm sorry to hear autofill isn't working as expected on your Android devices or laptop.

You mentioned using Chrome on your laptop. Is it safe to assume you're using Chrome on the Android devices as well? If so, I'd like to ask you to confirm the following setting on both Android devices:

    1. Open Chrome.
    2. Select the three dots ( ⋮ ) on the top right, then tap Settings > Autofill Services.
    3. Tap Autofill with Google, then tap Restart Chrome in the popup that appears.

If you are still experiencing issues, please try the steps below to see if autofill suggestions or the Open 1Password button will then appear below the log-in fields:

    1. Open and unlock the 1Password app.
    2. Tap the account/collection icon on the top right.
    3. Tap Settings > Autofill.
    4. Tap Display autofill prompts then tap Below the fields they relate to.
    5. Open your device settings, then tap Apps > 1Password > Force Stop.
    6. Reopen the 1Password for Android app

If you then tap the login fields on a website would the autofill suggestions now appear, with the fields being filled successfully when the suggestion is tapped?

If you're still seeing an issue could you let us know which browser you're using along with an example website or two where you've seen an issue?

I NEVER get the option to auto-generate a new password on those devices or my Chrome Browser on my Windows 11 laptop.

Starting with 1Password in your browser on the laptop could you share a bit more about the behaviour you see if you click a password registration or update field on a website? For example on the testing site we use autofill.me (https://autofill.me/form/registration-username). By comparison, you should see something similar to our guide here.

    Thanks again!
