1Password for Windows app keeps requiring encryption key transfer
I have a business account that uses SSO for authentication. I am able to authenticate in the browser just fine and use the browser extension with no issues. When I sign in to the Windows app via SSO, I am asked to transfer the encryption key from my browser. I am able to do this successfully, but I keep having to transfer the key every day or two. Is there a way to prevent the encryption key transfer from happening or to get it to stop repeating?
Admin of multiple vaults vs overall security
My mom and dad have their own computer each. They are elderly and are awful at understanding how to secure their multiple websites access, and installing 1password on their computer and asking them to learn how it works is not an option. So I'm using password caching in their browsers and it works fine. But to create these multiple passwords, I've created two vaults in my family account. I set up myself each items in their vaults and copy/paste the new passwords in their browser cache and they're ready to go. Easy. But here's the security issue I'm facing (and anyone managing multiple vaults): Now there's only one main password (mine) securing ALL vaults (theirs and mine). From wanting to help them secure their computers, I'm becoming the greatest weak point in that security chain. If a hacker eventually figure out my main password, I'm becoming a liability to those other vaults. But beside setting up a super crazy password as the main password, what else can I do to "spread the risks".
1Password keeps asking for password instead of using biometrics
I use 1Password on both Mac and Windows systems. On these systems, I can no longer unlock 1Password from the browsers with a Mac fingerprint or Windows hello. It will ask for the fingerprint/hello, but then that won't work and I'll have to enter my password (again). I am seeing this behavior on multiple browser implementations (ie Safari, Chrome, Firefox) and, as stated before, on both Windows and Mac. The behavior seems to happen when I am opening the app too. I have updated the browser plugins on both systems to no avail. I am running version 8.10.78 on my Mac; I'm not sure what is on my Windows system at this time. This behavior started for me about 3 weeks ago. Previously, the biometrics would work to unlock 1Password on the browser after I had entered the password somewhere else.
Autofill "disabled" on Androids enrolled in Intune
Hello - We recently converted our mobile fleet to Intune MDM. When trying to change the 1Password mobile app autofill options on any Android phone, it will display the various options like Authenticator, Google, 1Password, etc. But when I select 1Password, then go back a screen, it still says "none", and the selection doesn't stick. If I select one the does work, like Authenticator, then go back, I can see a list of apps that appear to be "disabled by Admin", including 1PW. But we didn't. And can't find anything, anywhere in Intune or 1PW admin where that is even an option. We believe we have it narrowed down to a Samsung/Android/Intune issue, but I wanted to put it out here and see if anyone else has experienced this. At this point, the app is useless, but there's got to be a solution somewhere out there. thx!
Authentication gets stuck on iOS with two accounts
I just added a work account to my iPhone’s 1P install (I’ve had a personal account for years). After doing so, all attempts to authenticate using Face ID get me to a blank screen, for both personal and work accounts. This leaves me dead in the water as I can’t log in anywhere using a passkey, for example.
Hide password for employes
Hi everybody, i'm new on 1password, and already searching for a moment how to make that my employees don't see the password when they use 1Password but can't find it. So in fact, I have some employees for who i prefer that they don't see the password when using it to logging to some website. Is there any possibility on 1password on auto-completion without any possibility to display the password? Thanks a lot for any answers! Regards, Yannick
Personal 1Password account Randomly deleted
Went to use my personal account today and it was no longer on my laptop or phone. Used the secret Key and I get this message. Importing my Emergency kit brings me back to this same window. Entering my password gives the same message. There is no immediate customer support representative and the chatbot is telling me that if my account is deleted then it is unrecoverable. I have not requested this deletion, no one else has access to this account, I pay annually for this which isn't due til later this year and I don't do anything inappropriate with this account. The only thing I can think of is that this got flagged because I have a VPN and maybe my laptop and phone accessing it from public IPs in different regions triggered some security feature. But I have no warning message in my email and nothing about billing other than my last annual invoice from last year. I am very dissatisfied with the customer service with this company.Passkeys and Adobe apps
Hi, I've saved a passkey for my Adobe account and can use it no problem to access the Adobe website on any of my devices. However, when I'm trying to login to an app (i.e. Lightroom, Photoshop) the app opens a login window which includes the option to use a Passkey, then Window pops up little dialog asking me to plug in the USB drive my passkey is on, obviously I don't have that. I then need to cancel that and choose to authenticate another way. Should 1Password be able to supply the passkey in this situation? Thanks.Okta MFA codes stored in 1Password
Hey all, I ran into an issue when integrating 1Password with our IdP Okta, a good amount of our users use 1Password as a means to store their MFA codes, including Okta. This meant that when the users tried to login to 1Password, they found that they could no longer access the MFA code for Okta to login to 1Password. And that left them stuck in a loop, need Okta MFA code to login to 1Password, can't login to 1Password sine they need the MFA code. Is there a solution for this other than asking users to use another MFA method for Okta? We don't provide company mobile devices, and our company is fully remote meaning some labour laws restrict me asking our users to install another MFA app (like Okta verify) on their personal devices.
