Migrating from one account to another on a Chromebook
I have an individual account and a family account. I want to move all the items from the individual account to the family shared vault. My computer is a Chromebook. How can I do this without having to select each of 998 items and move them individually in the Android app?
How to Migrate 1Password Vaults to Bitwarden Folders (With Passkeys!) using iOS 26 CXP
I just finished migrating my credentials from 1Password to a fresh Bitwarden setup, and I wanted to share a workaround for a major pain point regarding vault organization and Passkeys. Those who used 1Password v7 will remember that exporting by vault was standard. In v8, this has been reduced to an "all-at-once" account export. If you want to maintain your organization during a move, this creates a mess. The Challenge: Maintaining Structure If you have multiple vaults (Work, Personal, Shared, etc.) and want them to land in specific Bitwarden Folders, an "all-at-once" export creates a massive, unorganized pile. Plus, standard file exports (CSV/1PUX) usually break Passkeys. The Solution: The "Single-Vault Pipeline" (iOS 26 CXP) By using the newly introduced Credential Exchange Protocol (CXP) on iOS 26, you can move your data app-to-app, vault-by-vault, and keep your Passkeys intact. (Note: I used a 1Password Family account and a free Bitwarden account for this). The Migration Manual: Prep 1Password (Web Browser) Log into 1Password.com on a desktop. Go to Manage Account > People > Select your account > Manage Vaults. The Trick: Deselect all vaults until only one is left visible to your user. Now, your mobile app will only "see" that specific vault. The CXP Transfer (iOS Device) Open the 1Password app on your iPhone/iPad. Navigate to Settings > Advanced > Start Export. Enter your account name (there is a hint at the bottom) and approve. Select Bitwarden as the destination. It will open Bitwarden and securely transfer everything from that one visible vault—including Passkeys and TOTP seeds. Assign to Folders (Bitwarden Desktop) Open the Bitwarden Web Vault on your computer. Click on "No Folder" (this shows all the items you just imported that don't have a folder assignment). Click the "Select All" checkbox at the top. Click the three dots (⋮) above the list > Add to Folder. (Note: You’ll need to create the folder first by pressing the + New button). Rinse and Repeat Go back to the 1Password web interface. Deselect the vault you just finished and select the next one. Repeat the iOS export. Because Bitwarden treats these as new "unassigned" items, you can neatly move the next batch into the correct folder. Why this is the optimal way: Passkeys & 2FA: Unlike file exports, CXP moves the actual cryptographic keys for Passkeys and your TOTP seeds. Shared Protocol: Because it uses a modern exchange protocol, misc info and custom fields transfer much more accurately than a messy CSV. Organization: You don't have to manually sort 1,000 items at once. You do it in controlled, vault-to-folder chunks. Hope this helps someone else stuck in the migration process!
Login Issue
1PW's default of Fill-in and Open is great for the vast majority of sites. But some sites have security issues that are much easier (or require) only filling in my login and password. An example until my password and login are filled it is not possible to deal with a CAPTCHA secruity system for my natural gas supplier. Increasingly financial institutions and government sites (Social Security, Medicare, PBGB) are adding security "features" If there is someway have 1PW merely enter my data without functionally pressing "Enter", please tell me! Since the number of sites with this issue is low, I really want this option to be a "Setting" choice for each login.
Autofill Sign-In Auto issue single site
Not sure if this is anything that can be fixed ever but the Sign In Automatically after Autofill fails on https://myenstarscm.enstarnaturalgas.com/ as it defaults to hitting the 'Register' button and not the 'Sign In' button. Turning that setting off allows autofill to work correctly, just without automagic sign in function.1Password not generating OTP
Hello, I scanned QR code for one time code in one of the enteries in 1Passowrd. One password gave me a 6 digit code on scanning that I registered with the website. Now when I try to login to website and go to 1Password for one time code, it is showing an error message in one time code field. If there was an error in URL, why did it register that one time code in the first place. I am now locked out of target site. It gave me a code to register with the site and saved my entry. Now it is giving me error next time. Any way to get the one time code generator to run as it should have saved all the necessary info. Hi, I want to have the most important data always available somehow. So let's assume, the worlds internet break up and I can't connect to any of your servers. This is also concerning, if done by accident: If you delete a vault in your 1Password account, this is permanent and deleted vaults cannot be restored. I really need a local backup. As I can see the only option is an unencrypted local export (1PUX)? Is there any way to automate this? (preferrably in an encrypted form!) Thanks
Switching from eero plus
Hi folks - I currently have a 1Password family account via eero plus. I am not renewing that service, and instead want to switch to direct billing via 1Password. Is this as simple as not renewing the eero service and then setting up billing via 1Password? Or do I need to do something more convoluted like exporting my vaults and importing them into a new account setup with direct billing. Thanks! Andy
Include a link to a category in a secure note?
In addition to my 1Password emergency kit, I've created a secure note with specific information to help whoever needs to access my information. In my note I call out that the 'critical' tag is where they will find all the important accounts. However, I'm concerned that my non-technical family might not understand what a tag is, or how to find it. REQUEST: Is there a way to make the secure note have a link to the whole tag to make it easier for them? I'd also like to be able to create links to a few extremely critical items directly inside my secure note. This would be like the existing 'Copy Private Link', but would only work in the current Vault. Ideal behavior would work both within the desktop app or in the webclient.
Merging Duplicates
I know that the general response is to manually do this, but doing this with 1000+ objects is impractical to say the least. Some were created because when I migrated to 1Password, some duplicate/corrupt entries already existed in my profiles on Avast, Google, etc, which I did not notice at the time. Unfortunately, some have been created since then by either less tech-savvy family members on their own accounts or how 1Password is asking more often regarding site/app trust & permissions ("Allow fill once") and is thus creating duplicates of its own accord. The fact that merging wasn't already added a while back, considering how many people have asked about it over the years, is interesting to say the least. And yes, I have been attempting to create my own tool for quite some time, but it is difficult to find time to work on it lately, on top of not being successful in general.
