I am unable to access my 1Password Family account despite multiple recovery attempts. Issue details: I have regenerated my Secret Key as part of the recovery steps. I am unable to log in using my credentials on any device. All devices have been signed out, and no active sessions are available to me. Family members only have Member access and no Organizer/admin permissions. Recovery attempts consistently fail with the message: “Recent attempt was cancelled." This occurs across multiple devices and browsers. Impact: I am fully locked out of my account. No Family Organizer is available to approve recovery. This is blocking access to stored credentials and operational access. Already sent a couple of emails to the support team and received only the ticket number. This is frustrating and not the service we expect from 1Password. I can no longer access 1Password on my MacBook Pro, though it works fine on my iPhone and iPad. The error message I'm getting is below. I've already reached out to support and used the 1Password Troubleshooting app to generate and share logs, but haven't heard back yet. Has anyone run into this before? My support ticket ID is 572622. I haven't noticed this exactly on my extensions, but I have noticed that the browser has to be reset more frequently (Safari and Chrome) because the extension seems to freeze, even with 1Password Desktop App unlocked. However, I have been seeing your issue on my iPhone -- more frequently than expected, I have had to type in my password to unlock, rather than biometrics.29Views0likes3Comments1Password Safari Extension Issue
I have used 1Password since 2017 although I've only recently renewed my subscription just a few months ago. It's being used on a MacMini M4 running macOS Tahoe 26.4.1 (25E253), iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 26.4.2, and on an iPad running iOS 26.4.2. I sometimes have trouble opening 1Password from the menubar icon in Safari on all devices but if I open 1Password from the app on the MacMini it seems to open the Safari extension and allows me to use the menubar icon afterwards. Likely the way it's intended which is logical to me but I'd like confirmation that I first have to open the app before opening and using the 1Password menubar icon in Safari to the same thing. However, I'm writing primarily to address a popup that I keep getting when I reboot my MacMini M4. Below is the popup image that I receive each time I reboot or start my computer. I have performed every installation step I know of in order to prevent this popup and to also properly use 1Password from Safari. The extension is properly installed and works, as I said above, after I open the main 1Password app on my Mac. What can I do at this point to eliminate this bothersome popup on boot? As can be seen in the second image the extension is installed in Safari on the MacMini so I don't know what else to troubleshoot and am at a lost to explain why this dialog window continues to tell me turn on 1Password for Safari in Extensions. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, JohnBSolved37Views0likes3CommentsNative Password AutoFill Extension macOS
So one of the people in my family subscription for 1P relies heavily on iCloud Keychain. The nice piece about using the native autofill extension is entries from both show up together in-line. This happens on iOS (or if you use other password managers it secure by each provider but both are offered the same way together). in terms of migration and allowing those who wish to use both depending on the context. It would be nice to support the native autofill extension, but further it limits exposure or need for safari extension. Should someone not want to use or can't install the extension due to work policy or just rather not use safari extensions thanks. 1Password Version: 8.x Extension Version: Not Provided OS Version: macOS 12.6 Browser:_ SafariSolved8.8KViews19likes206Comments1Password for Safari: excessive CPU usage
From time to time the 1Password web extension in Safari drains my MacBook Pro's battery; according to the activity monitor it's then occupying 100% CPU (only one core? don't know). Unfortunately I cannot really tell exactly *when* this happens, but I *think* it's when my Mac goes to sleep, for example when I'm away or close the lid, Safari is still running, and I come back later. Side effect: When unlocking 1Password via the menu bar icon, the extension in Firefox is directly unlocked too, but the Safari extension keeps being locked; I manually have to click on the button to unlock it. This keeps bugging me now for quite some time, and the only workaround I found so far is either deactivate and reactivate the extension in Safari settings or restart Safari. Deinstalling and reinstalling the application didn't help as far as I could tell. Has someone else seen this? I'm using * 1Password for Mac 8.12.10 (81210036) * 1Password for Safari 8.12.10.36 * macOS 26.4.1 * MacBook Pro M2Solved88Views0likes6CommentsFeature request: support more back/forward gestures and keyboard shortcuts
I’m trying to make my mouse buttons 4 and 5 work as back and forward buttons respectively, which on macOS involves picking one of three things to simulate: Three finger swipe left and right. The produces ideal behavior in native apps, but sometimes doesn’t work in non-native apps. At least some Logitech mouses take this approach. More info here: https://sensible-side-buttons.archagon.net. Command-Left and Command-Right. Seems to be most broadly supported, but targets the focused window rather than the one under the cursor. Command-[ and Command-]. Not as broadly supported as the arrow key shortcuts, sometimes used for different functionality like code editor indentation, targets the focused window rather than the one under the cursor, and generates some unwanted menu bar flashing. Currently 1Password supports only #3, and it’s the only app on my computer to do so. Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and even some Electron apps support all three. I’d ideally want 1Password to support all three, too, but just adding #2 would be a much appreciated upgrade that I’d guess would be easier to implement. The way it is now I just don’t get to use my mouse buttons 4 and 5 in 1Password, because rebinding them to work with 1Password would break more than it fixes.6Views0likes0Comments1Password autofill vs MacOS text replacement
I started having a strange problem in the past couple of months - when 1Password was autofilling a userid field with my email address the ending part of the email address was being duplicated. This was only happening on MacOS, not on my iPhone or iPad. I finally figured out that I have a keyboard text substitution set up in MacOS settings such that when I enter the first 3 characters of my email address the entire address is substituted. When I turned this off the problem disappeared. Did something change in how 1Password enters autofill data such that the keyboard text substitution is triggered? Or did something change in MacOS with how substitution works? Either way it was very confusing, and since I didn't see any other posts about it here I thought this might help someone else who runs into this.9Views0likes0CommentsWhy am I getting Save in 1Password prompts?
I save all of my login credentials in 1Password and only use 1Password for managing passwords. Even though I am launching all my login's from 1Password with the Open and Fill feature, I'm getting prompts to 'Save in 1Password'? See screenshot #1 And then immediately after I launch the website I get a second prompt asking me to 'Save login' See screenshot #2 I do not understand why I'm getting either of these prompts given I already have saved the login credentials. How can I stop this from happening? Thank you. 1Password Version: 8.10.40 Extension Version: 2.27.1 OS Version: Mac OS 14.6.1 Browser: Safari213Views0likes9Comments
