1password 8 - can't delete using only keyboard

With 1password 7, you could delete an item using the context menu, then confirm the delete command with the keyboard. In 1P8, I can't seem to confirm the delete with the keyboard - I must click on delete.

There do seem to be ways to abort or cancel the delete from the keyboard, but confirming doesn't work.

Context: when upgrading to 1P8, it pulled in an old vault that I'd apparently imported years ago. Now I have over a thousand duplicate logins that I have to delete. And since I can only see the items when I click on them to see the details (and determine which one to delete), I have to delete them one at a time. I'm trying to automate the steps with a macro, but it's tricky when I can't confirm via the keyboard.
