1Password app on Android 14 refuses to recognize that autofill is enabled in the system settings
I'm on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 running Android 14.
I used to have autofill working on this device, and it recently stopped working. If I look in the settings within the 1Password app, it shows autofill disabled. If I try to turn it on, it says I need to turn it on in the control panel, and gives me a link to open the page. I follow the link, only to find it's already turned on in the control panel.
Among the many troubleshooting steps I've tried, this is the most comprehensive one: (I did all of these steps in sequence in one shot, these aren't individual attempts)
- Turned off 1Password under Autofill in the system control panel
- Went into the Storage settings under the 1Password app in the Apps control panel, and did a "Clear Data" on it.
- Uninstalled the 1Password app
- Rebooted the device
- Installed the 1Password app
- Did another "Clear Data" on it in the control panel in order to wipe out the restored data from the Google Account (without this step it already knows who I am and just asks for my password when I launch it).
- Signed into my account
- Followed the prompts to enable Autofill
End state after the above steps: The system control panel has 1Password selected for autofill, but the 1Password app refuses to believe it and keeps telling me I need to enable it in the control panel.
