1Password Edge extension causes blank page when using PipClip search toolbar

Hi 1Password team,

I’d like to report an issue I’m experiencing with the 1Password browser extension on Microsoft Edge.

Issue description

When using PipClip to select text on a webpage and then clicking the Search button in PipClip’s floating toolbar, Edge opens a new tab with a blank page.
Normally, this action should open a Google search results page for the selected text.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open a webpage in Microsoft Edge
2. Select any text on the page
3. Click the Search button in PipClip’s floating toolbar
4. A new tab opens, but the page is completely blank

Expected behavior

Clicking the Search button should open a Google search results page for the selected text.

Actual behavior

A new tab opens, but it displays a blank page.

Troubleshooting done

• I disabled all other browser extensions → issue still occurs
• I disabled the 1Password browser extension → issue is resolved
• Re-enabling 1Password brings the issue back

This strongly suggests the issue is caused by the 1Password Edge extension.

Environment

• OS: macOS 26.2 (25C56)
• Browser: Microsoft Edge 144.0.3719.104
• 1Password Extension: 8.12.1.3
