1password extension for Opera

I am using Opera on Windows and have installed the 1password extension via the Chrome extension store.

The extension does not synchronize with the desktop app, and requires to input my passphrase everytime. It's quite annoying.

Please fix the extension for Opera/Windows, it's not working as per my expectation.

  • Hello Loisโ€‹! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Thank you for reaching out. Opera isn't a supported browser for 1Password which means that integration between the 1Password desktop app and the browser extension won't work.

On the Mac, we released a custom trusted browsers feature which allows you to add any browser with a valid code signature to 1Password for Mac. The team is hoping to bring this feature to Windows in the future but it's not available currently.

For the moment, if you'd like to have 1Password in your browser share a lock state with the desktop app so that it can use features like Windows Hello, you can switch to one of our supported browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or Microsoft Edge.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Hey!

Its working - if you haven't tried on Windows + Opera with latest versions!
I just wanted to check on older community posts (+1 year) to see if there is an update to 1Password/Opera/Windows and before I just tried it out via Settings.
Either way - unlock 1Password in app or browser plugin - it unlocks either way.

Latest versions of 1Password, Opera, Plugin, Windows.

    1. Open 1Password app
    2. Go to Settings > Browser > Connect to additional browser > klick "Add Browser". A File-Window will open. Now navigate to installation Path of Opera or see 3.
    3. Locate your Install Path of Opera
      1. Right Click on Opera Logo and click "Properties"
      2. Copy the path of General/Location or Shortcut/Target
      3. Insert it in the File-Window and klick "Open"
    4. Opera should now be added into the list. Try to Lock/Unlock 1Password via App or Browser Extension. It will/should lock/unlock either way.

I might have missed this update feature before. Finally Opera + 1Password works again as I was using it +15 years :-)

Thanks 1Password developers for this feature finally added to 1Password on Windows :-)
