Subsequent unlock fails after Reset All Settings — iOS 27 Developer Beta
Device: iPhone 16 Pro Max
iOS Version: iOS 27 Developer Seed 2
1Password Version: 8.12.24
Account Type: Personal (1password.com)
Summary
After performing a full Reset All Settings on iOS, 1Password authenticates successfully on initial sign-in but fails on all subsequent unlock attempts with the error "That didn't work. Please try again." — regardless of whether Face ID or passcode is used.
Steps to Reproduce
- Performed Reset All Settings (Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset All Settings) on iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 27 Developer Seed 2
- Launched 1Password — Face ID unlock failed with "That didn't work. Please try again."
- Disabled Face ID within 1Password settings — passcode unlock also failed with same error
- Disabled Face ID in iOS Settings → Face ID & Passcode → Other Apps for 1Password, then re-enabled — issue persisted
- Signed out of account within the app, deleted 1Password, reinstalled from App Store
- On relaunch, previously saved account appeared in history — deleted it
- Scanned QR code from a second trusted device (iPad, iOS 27) to add account fresh
- Successfully signed in and accessed vault contents
- Closed and relaunched app — unlock via Face ID failed again with same error
- Attempted passcode unlock — same error
Result: Every subsequent unlock after initial sign-in fails regardless of authentication method. Need to reenter master password every time.
Expected: Face ID or passcode unlocks the vault on subsequent launches as normal.
Notes: The trusted device used for QR code sign-in has Face ID functioning correctly in 1Password on the same iOS 27 build, suggesting this may be specific to the post-Reset All Settings state on the affected device.
