1Password version 6 on Sequoia

I am still running 1Password version 6 on my devices. If I update my macOS to Sequoia will my 1Password still function?

I just restarted my computer (I am running Sequoia, which I believe auto-updated without my knowledge) and I am using 1Password 6, I've lost all my passwords.

I've emailed support and am hopefully working on a solution. However I wanted to add my two cents in here as I've been combing through these community questions about this.

    UPGRADE!!

    I will keep you posted.

Hi MuDo_1, thanks for weighing in here.

I'm very sorry to hear your data appears to be missing after the update to your Mac, and I can understand how concerning this must be for you. I'm sure our team will be looking at every avenue to get you back up and running.

In the mean time, if there's anything we can help with here, just let us know. Thanks again.

  • Hello mbr1pass6! 👋

Thanks for reaching out! 1Password 6 hasn't been updated since 2018 (7 years ago!) and it hasn't been tested on current versions of macOS. I can't say whether you'll run into any issues since I don't believe that anyone on the team has installed and used 1Password 6 for a long time now.

In any case, I don't recommend using 1Password 6 anymore (even if you do get it running) since it's no longer supported. 1Password 8 is the current version of 1Password and it receives regular bug and security updates. 1Password stores the most important information in our lives, and it's important to always use the latest version to stay protected. I recommend that you upgrade: Upgrade to 1Password 8
