1PW 7 > 8 finally and...
OK - I got a new computer and decided it was time to load 1PW8 - I must be doing something wrong because the basic functionality of the product seems GREATLY diminished.
I'm trying to log into my bank something I've done thousands of times. This is from Safari on an M4 iMac. 1PW is there as a pop up but it wants me to type in the password - instead of using TouchID - fine I'll go back and open 1PW as the app and then it won't need that right? Oh wait 1PW is already open! WHAT!!!!!! Please tell me I'm missing something. so I can't use TouchID to unlock 1PW in the browser??
Thanks!

Can you clarify if you have 1Password for Safari installed from the Mac App Store? It's a companion app (extension for Safari) for 1Password 8. Also please note 1Password 8 is a new app and as such you'll need to re-enable things like Touch ID inside the 1Password 8 settings.

Yes - on the app store I see 1Password 7 & 1Password for Safari and I installed the latter. For 1Password 8 (the app) I downloaded from 1Password.com. I DID enable touch ID in the app and it works just fine - for opening / unlocking the app.
When I click in a password field (using 1PW7) a menu with the touchID symbol shows up and it can unlock the app and the browser (Safari) simultaneously. I also have Brave enabled and it works great on my 1PW7 computer but the browser extension does NOT present touchID. Is there a way to make this work on 1PW8? If not, I'm very likely joining the ranks of folks running back to 1PW7.- dxzdbOccasional Contributor
OK - I found the Browser button in 1PW8 settings where it allows you to attach the browser. It seems to work a lot better now - I'm not sure why this wasn't mentioned anywhere. I enabled a couple other browsers. I did find an issue with the arrow keys, so there's a little hitch in how I used to type in passwords - but the autofill looks better. Safari for some reason won't allow me to use the arrow keys to select if there are multiple logins - so that's a bit annoying.
I did even get 1PW working in the obscure browser Orion which is put out by the search engine folks Kagi. I keep forgetting where to find this extension - since I guess they are all Chromium based, you need Google so ... go to https://chromewebstore.google.com and search for 1Password - There should be a button to add it to the browser you do this from.
I almost went back to 1PW7 we'll see if I stay happy 😊
