1PW Safari extension repeatedly unlocking/locking

Whenever I return to my computer and unlock the Safari extension, it repeatedly flashes - unlocking and locking - until it finally stays unlocked, then the drop down menu in the input field doesn't work. The little 1Password icon and arrow is unresponsive.

Sometimes, after it finally stays unlocked, it just shows all my logins, rather than just the ones related to the site I'm on.

It's been doing this for a couple of months now, both on the TestFlight beta and the public release, and basically makes 1Password in Safari unusable. Sometimes it will work ok, but often I'll need to quit and reload Safari to get it to work at all again.

It does it on all sites, not just the one in the video below -  I've blurred out any private data.

    I'm sorry that you're running into issues with 1Password for Safari and repeated UI flashing when unlocking 1Password. Our developers have been investigating this behaviour and there were some improvements included in version 8.12.4 of 1Password. 

    If you're still seeing the issue when using 8.12.4 (or later) then, the next time that you see the issue, I'd like to ask you to create and share a 1Password diagnostics report from 1Password in your browser:

    Send a diagnostics report (browser extension)

    Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

    With your email please include:
