4 years agoAutofill on Android 12 doesn't seem to work
I just got a Pixel 6 Pro and have 1Password set up. 1Password is my autofill service.
When I add a new Google account, I long-press on the password entry widget and select "Autofill" from the bubble that comes up, but nothing happens.
I've tried turning off autofill in 1Password and turning it back on, but still nothing. Any thoughts? Thanks so much!

Hi! I have a similar problem. When clicking whatever kind of form (user, pass, address, credit card) the 1Password autofill dropdown shows, but nothing happens when I either tap or long-press the suggestion. I've also tried opening the 1Password app and unlocking with my fingerprint (this was required by LastPass) but it doesn't work either.
(Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, Android 13, Gboard, Chrome autofill off, 1Password autofill on full permissions)

Hi Timothy.
Yes, the name caught me out there and I realised the second message wasn't for me so I've edited my message. Sorry about that.
The instructions in the email seem to have worked as it started working after I toggled the autofill switch off and then on again.
Thanks very much for your help.

Thanks for sending that in alexmidd! We'll follow up with you there.
The second message I posted was for a different Alex, who asked a question regarding filling Identities after your previous update. I apologize for any confusion!

Hi Timothy
Thanks for your messages.
I have created the diagnostics report and sent that to the address advised. Hopefully this can help with diagnosing the issue.

Hello @AlexanderCarpenter, thanks for joining us on the forum!
Just to clarify, 1Password 7 for Android does not Autofill identities. 1Password 8 for Android, now available in early access, can Autofill Logins, Identities and Credit Cards. You can test the 1Password 8 beta by downloading our new Android app here:

Has this been fixed yet? In its current state, it does not prompt for autofills on identity fields (name, email, phone) on the browser. As a result, I suggest people use Google or some other autofill service for now

Hi Timothy
Thanks for your reply.
Firstly, yes the screenshot is from Chrome (I’m not sure how that happened as I never use Chrome on my phone). I am trying it now in Samsung Internet and the result is the same. It has never worked on any browser or app since I changed my phone. I have all the settings set in 1Password and the Autofill setting in the phone set to 1Password.
Secondly, yes I do have a URL set up. I have them set up for most of my logins, and none of them come up as an option in the list when I try to log into them in Samsung Internet or in an app. (I tried to screenshot this but I can’t due to “security policy”.)
So this is why I am a bit nonplussed about it because, as far as I can see, all the settings are set. I assume it must some setting on the phone that’s blocking it as it’s only been on the new phone, but I’ve no idea how to find out what it is that’s causing it.

@DanThomas, thanks for giving that a try! Let us know if you see any change.
alexmidd, thanks for writing in. I'm sorry to hear Autofill has been an issue on your S22+.
I just fired up my S22 with Gboard and Samsung internet (your screenshot appears to be from Chrome which I also tested). I was able to sign into the Paypal app and website without issue, including filling the one-time password.
When you open your Paypal item in 1Password for Android do you have a URL saved in the website field and a linked app similar to my example below?
