Big Problem! 1Password Quit Working on My Phone

Okay, I am stumped! Yesterday, my Android phone, a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, ran 1Password flawlessly. Today, if I click on any of the URLS within 1Password on my phone, nothing happens! And the Home Screen is blurred, like you are viewing it through Vaseline. I have cleared the cache and restarted the phone, and still have the same results. I can open, edit, and add entries, too, so I do not believe that the phone is frozen. What gives?

Now, conversely, the 1Password app is working flawlessly on my iMac! I can create new entries on my iMac, and they show up on my phone, Likewise, I can create new entries on my phone, and they show up on my iMac. So, the phone and the computer seem to be linked, and they are syncing properly. Both have all the same account information stored on them, and the account is valid until sometime in November. They both have the same secret key and show the same login information.  It is just that the computer works and the phone doesn't!

Specs: Android Phone, Samsung Z Flip 5,  1Password Version: 8.10.70, Android Version: 14

iMac, Chip: Apple M1, RAM 16 GB, Mac OS:  Sequoia 15.4, 1Password Version: 8.10.70

  • Dear Support Staff,

UPDATE I solved my own problem! I reinstalled 1Password from the Google Play Store, and went through all the steps for setting it up on a "new" device. Now the software is working perfectly on my phone.

The problem was caused by the most recent update to 1Password, from version 8.10.68 to 8.10.70. For some reason, the software when updated responded as though it was being installed as a new account on a new device. It was, in fact, simply a software update to an existing account on a linked device.
