[bug report] Markdown: A word enclosed in <> causes the rest of a note to disappear.

  1. At the top of a note type a word bracketed by less than and greater than, ex. "<a>" followed by a blank line.
  2. Save the item.

Result: Nothing beyond that word appears in the note. The problem does not happen if a non-whitespace character appears after the ">" .

Expected: The rest of the note appears as it was before the addition.

Happens on Windows 8.11.23, macOS 8.11.22. 

Does not happen on iOS 8.11.22.
