Hi garyaustin - I'm sorry to hear that you've had trouble viewing the image that you've added to you item. If you can send us an email to support+forum@1password.com you'll get an auto-reply from BitBot which contains a conversation number. That'll look like [#ABC-12345-123]. Post that number here and I'll make sure your message reaches the right team.

I was thinking it would—or could—copy the image into the app rather than just a link to it elsewhere. Is this not so? When I did store a link and clicked on it, the photo would not come up, so it did not work that way either. Thanks.

Are you attaching the file directly? This would act as a link to the object. It sounds like you may be using a link to a related item. For direct attachment please use the Attach a file option.
