4 years agoChrome Version 100.0.4896.30 (Official Build) beta won't verify
I'm using the beta channel of Google Chrome and an update that came through during a Chrome restart today (seems it was made available yesterday) broke 1Password. I am constantly getting the message that 1Password can't verify the browser. I've quit 1Password completely, quit Chrome completely, rebooted computer numerous times, etc. Nothing is helping.

Currently I'm on v2.3.3 of the 1Password Chrome Extension, v.7.9.4.BETA-0 (70904000) of 1Password itself, and v101.0.4951.15 (beta) of Chrome.

@dmz which versions worked for you?

I was able to get it working, finally, by updating Chrome yet again (it had downloaded yet another build since my last post) and quitting and restarting 1Password.

I have done this, on multiple machines, and it hasn’t changed anything.

Hey @dmz! You should have the fix for this in 1Password 7.9.4-BETA-0. Are you still getting a message that your browser cannot be verified? Can you try completely closing the app + the browser, restarting your computer, and then testing the extension out once more? Please let me know how that goes.

I'm having this exact problem, but I'm on 1Password 7.9.4-BETA-0 and the latest version of the Chrome plugin... how long will it be before there's a 7.9.4 beta available that has the fix?

I think it is well understood that lifetime "license" does not mean lifetime support and product updates. No company could sustain that model.
At some point, a product's life ends, and sometimes that end is accelerated by external forces. It is the nature of the more complex inter-relationships of modern software.
